Camila's love for Japan, its food and its culture, runs deep. She has practiced the Omotesenke style tea ceremony for many years and guides A Taste of Japan, a yearly culinary tour to Japan. One of her most favorite aspects of the cuisine is the Japanese approach to breakfast (or, in this case, brunch), which she will share with you in this online class.

Japanese breakfast is a beautifully balanced, not too heavy meal that can include rice, miso soup, a protein (often grilled fish), and various small accompaniments, such as tsukemono (Japanese pickles), natto (fermented soybeans), salad and other light vegetable dishes. Camila's autumnal menu features comforting Mushroom Rice and soul soothing Miso Soup. Ginger and soy sauce (or tamari) Glazed Salmon is offset by delicately Braised Winter Squash and crisp Asazuke, seasonal quick-pickled vegetables.
