Picture a table covered with a simple cotton tablecloth and filled with all the colourful Mediterranean staples: a bottle of good olive oil, some crusty fresh bread, a bowl of olives, a colorful salad. Then fill it with small plates to share. Add in your favorite people. Preferably outside. A good idea, is it not?
The custom of small plates to share is common among many Mediterranean countries: Spain of course has its tapas (or pintxos in the north), which Camila has explored with us many times (and will continue to do so). In this class, however, we will focus on Eastern Mediterranean flavors. We will build a menu -and, at home, a table- of colourful, seasonal shared small plates that will be simple to prepare but feel festive enough to entertain guests, or just your family, or treat yourself.
A simple meal, presented in this way, becomes elevated to a special feast, particularly when we sit at a table with intention. Make this meal with us and feel transported to a Mediterranean beachside location!
